CMSI
The Clay Minerals Society of India (CMSI) is a premier professional registered society housed in the Division of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi. The society was founded in 1981 in the premises of ICAR-IARI, New Delhi with the aim of promoting basic and applied research on soil, clay and allied sciences. The society serves as a platform to raise and discuss issues related to land and soil degradation, the advancement in the field of clay science and technology, the application of clay minerals in agriculture, environment and industry for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The CMSI is an interdisciplinary society with members from academia and industry. It is a not-for-profit professional science body and a member of AIPEA (Association Internationale pour I'Etude des Argiles).
Objectives
- To promote the advancement of clay research, clay technology and allied fields.
- To provide common forum for scientists, industrialists, technologists and others to meet and foster the advancement of soil clay mineralogy and clay technology.
- To organize and conduct activities of interest to the members, such as holding of symposium and seminars on specialized contemporary topics.
- To disseminate scientific and technical information of interest to the members though publications of newsletters or journals such as Clay Research.
- To collaborate with other bodies (in India and abroad) pursuing similar aims and objectives.
- To initiate all other activities that may assist in the fulfilment of the above objectives and purpose of the society.
Members of the CMSI look forward to expanding this opportunity for multi-lateral exchange of research and industrial possibilities, through active participation from existing and future members. Till date CMSI has organized twenty four National Conferences/Symposia.
The Clay Research (ISSN 02557193, 09744509) is a premier professional interdisciplinary not-for-profit scholarly journal, which is in its 41st volume in 2022. It aims for fostering the advancement in the fields of clay mineralogy, soil science, geology, material sciences, nanotechnology, basic sciences, petrology, pedology, agriculture, engineering, ceramics, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and hosting of other kindred academic and industrial disciplines. The journal is published biannually, and publishes primary research papers, critical reviews, discussion papers, and texts of prestigious lectures. Since its inception in 1981, it follows publication ethics aiming for an international standard of world over dissemination of scientific knowledge. Therefore, the journal does not charge authors any fees for submission, and accepts papers from authors irrespective of contributing author(s) nationality, race, gender and membership of the Clay Minerals Society of India (CMSI). Its publication profile of contributing authors, editors and reviewers is international. The journal is published online through the website http://www.indianjournals.com along with a print edition. Currently the journal has a NAAS rating of 4.37
